As the Christmas Lights go on in Harrogate tomorrow night (how did that come round so quickly) I thought it would be a great time to have a look at what’s going on in the next month. We are putting our Christmas decorations up next week and are so looking forward to this period as Harrogate is beautiful at this time of year. It’s so easy to do your Christmas shopping here too, as you can park up at Acorn Lodge, walk into town and do your shopping. Because we are a small town all the shops are close together and we have some fantastic independent shops with unique gifts as well as many of the major stores such as Debenhams, M and S etc. We also have fantastic restaurants, tea rooms and bars to refresh yourselves! Not to mention the Turkish Baths for a warm up and relax away from it all.
We had a visit from Hollywood last week, with filming of a car chase and shoot out around the Montpellier Quarter, which was turned into a Swiss quarter for the film The Hunter, starring Sam Worthington.
Next weekend sees the Harrogate Christmas Market and Country Living Fair. We are fully booked but it is well worth a visit if you have already booked a stay.
We are also excited about the Winter Wonderland which is a 14 day Christmas indoor event from 10th – 23rd December. We are promised an indoor market, Santa’s Grotto, Winter Walks, family rides and attractions. We still have a few rooms available for this period so book now!
We will be closing for Christmas and a well earned break on 19th December. Not too much of a break as we will be decorating the dining room! We take over the guest house for Christmas as our extended family move in and we enjoy the house to ourselves for a few days.
We are open again on 27th December for short breaks, and still have a few rooms left. Please enquire for details
If you fancy treating someone to a Gift Voucher for Christmas, why not buy a stay here at Acorn Lodge? We have a variety of offers so please give us a call or email to see what we can do.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
